Of all the idiot things to jump into my head today, was the memory that today is the birthday of a long long LONG ago jerk-ass ex-boyfriend. I'm vaguely annoyed that I even remember the date, let alone that I took time and energy out of my day to mentally wish him a crappy birthday. On second thought, wishing him a crappy birthday was kinda fun. ;) But now I need to wash my mind out with soap....

More like disgust at myself for having been 13 and stupid, and allowing myself to have been taken advantage of. But there's a mindset that lets me actually be grateful, in a twisted way, for the bad relationships of the past that freed me up to meet more worthwhile people. I shudder to think of the life I would be living now if I had stayed with that jerk! :)
