I've decided to quit smoking |
|
I have to quit drinking as well because the two go hand in hand. I can't have a couple of beers without having a smoke. I've made it 24 hours so far.
I figure I will save about $260 a month. I could buy a new car with that kind of money. I could buy two new Kias and still have enough money left over for groceries for a week. This might sound sad, but the cost is motivating me more than the health effects.
I've quit before for 7 months, but sheer boredom got the better of me. I was driving on an over-the-road gig and I had a hard time living that kind of lifestyle without doing something to ease the boredom. I was also putting on weight like crazy- 30 pounds in 7 months. But I think I've got things under control this time.

I quit smoking last year, and yes, having a drink is the hard part. I did not have a drink for about a month, and once I was sure the cravings were not going to get the best of me, I started having a glass of wine now and then.

Do yourself a favor and get the book The Easy Way To Quit Smoking by Allen Carr. It worked miracles for me.
