|
and, at over 750 pounds, it's a bitch to shoplift........
I guess I'm stuck with my HD Projection system.......

2. I suddenly feel very insecure about my teeny tiny tv. It's only 3" bigger than I am. |
|
Woe is me. Woe, I tell you.

8. Worse: a 100-inch Sean Hannity! |
|
But a 100-inch Keith Olbermann would be cool.
Then again...if I owned a sports bar I'd get one the day they shipped. I'd have to install another wing cooker and two more beer faucets to handle the crowds who would want to watch football or racing on it.

4. *sigh* I want a Plasma - but I know tha LCD is better - so they say.... |
|
My parent's plasma TV has a much better picture than my sister's LCD - but everyone says LCD is the best thing to get.

5. Plasma's really unreliable and takes more electricity. |
|
Though honestly I think the best bang for one's buck is still projection, the picture is beautiful, the new ones are only a few inches deep and they're super cheap anymore. I got mine on clearance, $500 for a 65" HD set, and it's energy star rated.

6. There is a problem with plasma and LCD that you won't notice until you get home |
|
image quality of the signal... If your cable sucks, you get high-res static... And unless your DVD is HD quality, you will notice every flaw in the print...
for now, I will stick to my 42" Sony projection

9. Not really true............ |
|
I repair TV's for a living and I have worked on alot more projection and DLP sets than I ever have plasmas. I would also figure that projection sets are more expensive to repair, especially if you let the warranty lapse. The bulbs for most DLP sets alone are now running in the $200-300 range, and if the light engine craps out on you you might as well forget it.
As far as electricity usage, I can't argue that they use more juice. But, I own a plasma and I have found that w/ judicious use, my electricity bill has not increased by any significant amount. That said, they are not well-suited for every TV need.

PAL, NTSC LCD TVs. I hear one is coming our way in July. :) It's well worth the money.
