Any other "Andy Griffith Show" haters out there? God, I loathe that series!

No, this isn't a copycat even though it looks like one. I fucking HATE the Andy Griffith Show.

The whole premise of that detestable piece of shit is that Mayberry is all you need, and you'll never be happy anywhere else.

The series used two story arcs:

Arc 1: stranger comes to town and gets converted to the Mayberry way of thinking

Arc 2: something good happens in the life of one of the regulars. His/her friends exert enough peer pressure on said regular that regular quits doing the good thing and goes back to his same old boring self.

The ONLY time something good happened to a AGS character and the character wasn't reeled back in was when Gomer joined the Marines...and they spun his character off into another series to keep from fucking things up.

I'd rather watch the test pattern than Andy Griffith. Its story line is more uplifting.

The channel changed real fast when that show came on. I've zero interest at all in seeing it.

All the characters were stereotyped idiots and it was never, ever funny. Watching Lassie rescue Timmy from a well was much more enlightening.
