My dog is so pathetic looking currently
Edited on Fri Apr-11-08 09:13 PM by LostinVA
He broke his nail, badly. Apparently, it was an old injury that he hurt somehow during the night. Anyway, after much blood, and an 8am trip to the vet, here is Mick, in all his bandaged glory. They had to remove the whole nail.

According to Haruka, he was a terror at the vet. First peeing on the door to make himself known, then biting two technicians before they put a Hannibal Lector-style muzzle on him. He's such a sweet dog, but he becomes petrified at the vet.

5. He is a sweetie
We can tell he's feeling better, but it's been rough keeping him from running around too much. He has a lot of energy, and it's bred into him to work through pain.

3. I hope there's no permanent damage to the paw.
:(

I love border collies, but I can't imagine having the energy and discipline to raise one. :wow:

I'll have to stick to cats.

There's a chance it might grow back funny or not at all, but nothing that will cause problems in the long run.

He's actually pretty calm for a Border Collie. We didn't know it when we adopted him, but apparently the psychotically hyper ones are a result of people breeding them specifically for Agility and Flyball. We lucked out and adopted one from really good sheepherding lines. They're much calmer. He does get antsy though when he has to miss a herding lesson. Haruka said she never expected to ever be spending her Sunday mornings in a big paddock herding sheep. We also have a huge dog park down the street which helps.

Mick is in love with the cat, licking and nuzzling him as much as Ginsberg will take.

8. He looks adorable to me
My doggie didn't have a tail either. You can still tell when they're happy.
