Smoking Cessation Diary: Day 4

KILL! KILL! KILL! KILL! AAAHHHYEEEE!!!!!! DIE MOTHERFUCKER! redrum, redrum, redrum....


Actually, it's not that bad. I quit for 7 months one time and I had a harder time in the beginning then than I'm having now. I just have one problem. I have to ride in the same truck for 7 hours a day with a smoker. Now, he rolls down the window and I barely notice the smell, but the problem is that he teases me about it.

So today I told him how much money I was spending a month on cigarettes and booze: $260. Then I told him that I bet he spends more on that stuff than I was. I was right. He spends $460 a month. So now all I have to do when he offers me a cigarette is say, "Four hundred and sixty dollars." And that is a very significant amount of money to us seeing as how we're truckers and all.

3. Congrats on your decision

to quit smoking. It's a difficult habit to break. Although I smoked many years ago, I have a hard time being around smokers.

Keep thinking abut all of the money that you are saving and the fact that you don't have to look forward to the horrible way that many smokers die. I've watched three of my wife's relatives die in the past four years and it wasn't pretty! I quit twelve years ago and I am NEVER going back!Keep up the good work!

You're taking on one of the toughest addictions of all. It might help if you remember that every time you smoke a cigarette, God kills a kitten--and I mean a cute "Hang in There, Baby" poster kitten, not one of those annoying YouTube kittens that deserve death.
