Probably more suited to GD but whatever...I found myself watching Glen Beck's show last night... |
|
It was late, I was bored, and it was on. Shut up.
Anyway, Jon Voight was on and he said, I shit you not, that the basis of the Democratic platform these days is socialism, which he stated was akin to communism, and then went on to draw connections to the Soviet Union and post-Soviet Russia. Because the Democrats are clearly socialists :eyes: and all socialism is Stalisnist or post-Stalinist Soviet Communism. :eyes:
How out of touch can someone be?

17. Heard they quit talking years ago & that is why her last name |

was changed to her mother's. I don't follow celebs much - just heard that on the radio one day. On another note - I see that low talent Dennis Miller has another gig I won't watch,

12. It started out okay with these young teenagers talking about what they get out of it |
|
And then (you have to picture the scare music here) they explained that there's a Dark Side. Blah blah gang violence, really old stuff from SLC and Boston, blah blah, with no analysis on prevalence of that kind of thing, if the people involved were doing that before they went straight edge or would anyhow, comparative violence rates w/ other groups of young people, etc.
The funny thing was, they did this big focus on Reno, profiled some people there, focused on a school where they're concerned about the rising number of edgers, went to a show, etc, and the guys they profiled were all crazy nice and nothing remotely bad happened. So basically, it was a muddled mess, heavy on scare tactics, but kinda self-defeating since all the people they profiled seemed like really good guys- like "I would let that kid take my teenage daughter out" level of cool.
Originally there was going to be some stuff on xvx, based on the promos from the website, but all of that got cut. I hate to see anybody get so badly maligned, but I'm really relieved they left veganism out of it.
