Back from the beach...Malibu pics!
I went to the beach today for a bit of walking around and a bit of suntanning. It was GORGEOUS. Not a cloud in the sky, temperatures in the upper-80s. This is Carbon Beach, Malibu, CA.

3. I often say that
we pay a rent surcharge for the wonderful weather. Today was certainly a payoff for that! It's very warm for this time of the year, but these random hot days do happen and we were lucky enough to be able to take advantage of it!

2. My dear huskerlaw!
Ooooh, those are gorgeous!

Were the dogs allowed, or are people just looking the other way?

It's great to see them playing and having a great time alongside their owners!

And what a nice wide beach it is...

Some very cool houses too...

Do you have any trouble getting onto the beach?

I've heard stories about people getting harrassed...

Thanks for posting!

4. Thanks!!
I'm not certain if dogs are actually allowed, but there were MANY. We go to this beach a lot and there are always dogs...so if they're technically not supposed to be there, nobody enforces it.

It's a huge beach. It's "billionaire's beach"...right by the Malibu pier. Lots of celebrity houses. It's definitely one of the best hanging out beaches in/near LA.

Beach access is only tricky in that the entrance is sorta hidden. There's a tiny little sign on the PCH, just up from Carbon Canyon Rd. The crosswalks to get to the beach side are really far away from the beach access and parking can be sketchy (you have to park ON the PCH). But the entrance itself is large and well-maintained. Nobody has ever given us any grief and there's always lots of people on the beach who clearly don't live there. I know that although CA beaches are supposed to be public, sometimes it's really hard to gain access. Luckily, this beach isn't really a problem.

5. These pics are sssooo beautiful.
I can almost hear the surf! I lived in CA near the ocean for almost 12 years. I hated the heat, but damn that ocean is beautiful. Brings some serious tears to my eyes. Thanks, for the memories!

7. I wish I lived near the ocean.
Malibu is about 45 minutes away (assuming decent traffic conditions), but it's SO worth the drive.

It can be really hot, but lows in the 50s during the winter and being able to go to the beach in April more than makes up for it!

8. That we did!
Now we've all showered off the sand and suntan lotion and we're trying to work up the energy to go out for some sushi.

I love Southern California! :D
