I had a lawn mower in the back of my van, and could not shut the tailgate... thus necessitating a 2+ hour drive on the surface streets. Needless to say, I am glad I know I can eschew the freeway when I need to, but that route sure took a long time because of all the traffic lights.

and for most of those eons I've been wearing flipflops. The only problem this spring is that I'm getting snowflakes between my toes. But seriously: It was up to 42 degrees today,most but not all of the snow is gone, and I saw 3 or 4 people tiptoeing over the clumps of dirty snow wearing flipflops. We are a hardy people, we Minnesotans.
