Marilyn Monroe sex film to be kept private
" NEW YORK (Reuters) - A 15-minute film of Marilyn Monroe engaging in oral sex with an unidentified man will be kept from public view by a New York businessman who has bought it for $1.5 million, the broker of the deal said on Monday.

Memorabilia collector Keya Morgan said he recently arranged the sale of the silent, black-and-white film from the son of a dead FBI informant who possessed it to a wealthy Manhattan businessman who wants to protect Monroe's privacy.

"The gentleman who bought it said out of respect for Marilyn he's not going to make a joke of it and put it on the Internet and try to exploit her," said memorabilia collector Keya Morgan. "That's not his intention and I would never get my name involved if that were to happen."

Monroe is clothed and the man's head remains out of the frame for the entire 15 minutes of the film, said Morgan, who watched it."

10. I find this story hard to swallow
Leave it to the media to ram it down our throats and rub our faces in it.

Wait a minute--what was the question again?

19. Too soon? Nah--let's have further exploitation of other long dead women, too!
Hell, let's exploit every last one of them! Dig up Cleopatra, and we can exploit her. What's Marie Antoinette doing at the moment? Let's see: "giving head" would be a poor choice of words...

If someone had posted about dubious porn footage of Michael Hutchence, you can bet there'd have been jokes about him "leaving us hanging" and "dude, it's supposed to be the little death." That sort of thing, you know? Celebrities by definition place themselves and their lives under the public microscope, and it is to be expected that people will comment with sarcasm on many aspects of those lives. And such comments often follow right on the heels of the tragedy.

Marilyn Monroe is to this day worshipped as a de facto goddess by much of our culture and others. Laughter is one of the many tools in the rhetoric box by which we address sad historical truths. Her life and death were tragic, yes, but they happened over four decades ago, for pity's sake! She is exploited by people who continue to profit by selling her image and likeness years after her death--not by a handful of posts by an anonymous poster on a forum somewhere.

"Otherwise, how did you like the play, Mrs. Lincoln?" Or is that joke too soon, too?

11. Sounds like a con; there was a Monroe lookalike in a stag film.
From Wiki

Arline Hunter is an American actress and model. She is perhaps best known as Playboy's Playmate of the Month for August 1954. Her centerfold was the first not to be purchased from the John Baumgarth Co. by Hugh Hefner, and was instead photographed by Ed DeLong, who would go on to become one of the more prolific Playboy photographers in the 1960s.

Much of Hunter's fame was built upon her resemblance to Marilyn Monroe; indeed, her Playboy pose was obviously inspired by Monroe's notorious 1949 nude photo session with Tom Kelley from which her own Playboy photo came. The similarity in look between Hunter and Monroe also came into play when a nude Hunter starred in a film short called Apple Knockers and Coke. For many years there have been those who have seen the film and have mistaken Hunter for Monroe.

Who in the hell would spend $1.5 million with no hope of a return on the investment? What a bunch of hooey.
