We had a '70s Olds Delta 88 and called it the tank (not sure of the year and not new)
but I know we had it in 1977

so our handles were

Sherman Tank
and
Lady Tank

Breaker 19!!!!!!!!

had a ball on them

1. Hawg Driver
I was flying the F-84 at the time.
It was nicked the 'Ground Hog' because it took so much runway to get airborne.
Thus 'The Hawg'.
And we were hawg drivers.

21. You'd have to sit in my lap.
One seat, one engine.
Actually the last one went to the bone yard long ago.
They were already obsolete when I flew them in the 60s.
The guard usually got the older, hand-me-down stuff.

Top Gun Air Combat Simulators
Top Gun SimulatorExperience the thrill of flight in the Top Gun Air Combat Simulators. Test your flying skills inside the cockpit of a Navy F-14 Tomcat. After a pre-flight briefing, you will climb in, close the canopy and take off. Land on an aircraft carrier, engage in a dogfight and much more!

These four simulators, located off the Blue Angel Atrium, are the real deal. They were used to train more than 1,000 F-14 pilots during the 30 year length of service of the Tomcat. The simulators are painted in the livery of VF-84, "Jolly Rogers", a squadron that has been a constant presence in the US Navy since January 1943.

The ride costs $25 for one or two people and includes a pre-flight briefing and 20 thrilling minutes at the controls. The simulators are two-seaters with the pilot in the front seat and the radar intercept officer in the back seat. Gift certificates are available and Top Gun can also be reserved by the hour for private use (birthdays, special events, etc.) For information or to reserve your flight, call Top Gun at (850) 453-2389, extension 3276.

24. I have about 2.5 hours in an official Navy F/A-18 sim...
It made me want my own.

I also have a Commercial Pilots License with an Aerobatic Certificate.

I also have some software on my Mac that I use to simulate combat (when booted into windows) I have a homebuilt "cockpit" consisting of a CH HOTAS with rudder pedals and an old lazy boy that has had the sides modified, sitting on front of a 6 foot HD Projected screen with Track IR to track my head movements and allow me to look around in game by turning my head.

But all that is not the same as feeling the G-forces...

I was about 14, my parents had a cb in their car, my friend and I used to sneak out to the car and talk on the cb. Usually it was older people, not really anyone our age.

11. Doctor 'D'
Kilo Bravo Foxtrot Charlie Six Thirty-Six Niner, CalDX 327.

I was fairly hardcore — went through several radios, from a Sears RoadTalker 40 to a few Cobras/Unidens. Never ran an amplifier, but few of the radios themselves were in compliance with FCC regs. :)

Did that from 1978-1986, then graduated to ham radio (KB6WKO then N6SMG). Ham wasn't as much fun because hams only want to talk about their gear unless there's an emergency. (It was quite helpful in the days after the Loma Prieta earthquake.)

25. My hubby and I have one.
We bought it to bring on our trip from Texas to New Jersey in 2004. Mainly, so we could find out what was going on with traffic.

It was a lot of fun. Sometimes we would pretend like we did not know each other and flirt. Then one guy goes those idiots are on the same radio. We stopped playing that game after that.
