I don't miss the draconian Minnesota Tax Codes. But the California ones seem even more draconian.

4. We got our refund back in Feb. |

Had $1008 in withholding. Got it all back. George didn't get a penny for his dirty little war.

5. I earned a lot less this year than normal, |
|
partly because I couldn't find any freelance work so I just had my part-time job, and partly because I quit at the end of October to move and I haven't found a new job yet. So I'm getting almost all of it back.
In fact, I'm paying a grand total of *drumroll please* Nine dollars. Nine dollars in taxes this year. :) All the rest that I took out of my paychecks is coming right back.
So I figure I'm gonna A) Buy a bike or a pair of roller blades to keep active since the ice rink I've been going to is closing for the summer at the end of the week and B) Gonna buy me the parts I need for the project I had to put aside for lack of money a while back. Gonna build me an electric guitar. :) Or maybe a bass, since I have a decent electric guitar now but just a cheap starter bass.

I owe the IRS $296 and I'm getting a refund from the state for $372. Go figure.

9. I wrote out our big-ass checks yesterday. Ugh. |
|
let's just say we dipped into the ole equity line to pay and we ain't gettin' no freakin' rebate, either.
We always have to file an extension.
Our taxes are pretty complicated, so we have to pay our accountant to help us.
