***Pittsburgh, PA DU'ers***
Greetings, I am going to be in your fair city in May for a Chess Tournament. I am going to be staying for a little more than a week, in the Omni William Penn Hotel (which I'm given to understand is in downtown Pittsburgh). I'd appreciate any tips on good places to eat/drink/hang out or sights to see in the greater Pittsburgh area. Thank you!

:hi:

1. Explore Pittsburgh
Interactive map of downtown Pgh.
Good luck
You can ride the bus and subway for free in downtown Pittsburgh, get off before it crosses a bridge though!

3. One piece of advice about Pittsburghers:
They cheat like hell at chess. I mean it. Don't let their bishops near your knights, if you know what I mean. And watch what their pawns do around your rooks.

You've been warned.

I was planning to kick ass at that tournament next month. But N-O-O-O-O-O-O. You just had to give away my secret didn't you? Fucker.

9. What can I say?
My conscience finally got the better of me.

I promise, it won't happen again.

6. If you eat meat
make sure you do not leave the city without having a flatiron steak. Jerome Bettis's restaurant (36) is a really cool place to experience SteelerNation and eat said flatiron steak.

Any of the Carnegie museums are super. The Science Center is a fun way to spend half a day or so, depending on the exhibits, although it's a bit pricey.

7. Thank you very much for the info - I'll definitely check both places out. And the steak! I love a
good steak, I'll definitely give Mr. Bettis's restaurant a try. Thanks again.

8. It's near Heinz Field and easily walkable.
And my SO says the men's room is an experience not to be forgotten.

You'll have to take his word for it. ;)

11. I visited my brother in Pittsburgh several years ago.
My God, the streets are all designed like spider webs, and it's impossible to find your way around there. None of the streets go straight. They all go in circles. And then there are separate burroughs that go in separate circles and spider webs.

Good luck.
