I'm at work today, but I'm on my front porch.

The weather is perfect. Clear and sunny, breezy...gotta be 72 degrees. Neighborhood is quiet.

I'm telecommuting via my laptop. Wireless, using the corporate VPN. Still have to go inside if I print something.

Shorts, t-shirt, no shoes. Oh, the glory of not having to wear shoes.

Some days, going to work ain't so bad. Thank you technology (and bosses that let you manage your job and people how you want to).

1. I'm home today not working.

And I still don't know what's keeping me home.

I'm dizzy, I feel like hell, I'm running a fever, and I'm exhausted. I don't seem to have the flu, because I'm not congested at all, but maybe. I don't have a migraine, but I'm getting a bunch of the secondary symptoms, so maybe.

Blah! :(

I just hope I'm okay to make it into the office tomorrow, and don't give this to anyone else.

3. I've done that (and, I think, posted about it). Yes, there are SOME benefits

we get from technology in general, and the Internet in particular.

And you know what? I've seen dozens of polls where people were asked to name the best benifit of telecommunting, working from home, whatever you want to call it, and the number one answer is ALWAYS the same: Not having to wear shoes.

8. the only problem with working from home...

Unless I make a point to close my laptop and step away from it, I end up working a lot longer than I probably should.

Not wearing shoes is worth it though. :D
