Where can I buy tubing in metric sizes? |
|
My printers each contain three ink pumps. Each pump contains two pieces of 4.5mm solvent-resistant tubing. If you run solvent through this tubing for two years, holes WILL appear in it. Right now I've got six very expensive puddles under one of my printers, thanks to this tubing.
The only way Mutoh will sell you any of this tubing is as a component of either a pump or a capping station. The pumps are $185 each and only under extreme circumstances does anything but the hose go bad on one.
Therefore...where can I buy industrial tubing in metric sizes?

Flying to France for nine days (I figure it will take that long to locate an industrial supply house that sells this tubing, especially since I don't know how to say "I need three meters of 4mm hose that's resistant to glycol ethers" in French and especially because...well, isn't "Brasserie" the French word for "industrial supply house"?), including hotels, meals, transportation, ten feet of hose...probably close to $3000.
Three pumps...not quite $600. I can install them myself--it's just two screws and four hose connections.
We were TRYING to get the job done for less than $20!
