Who's going home on Idol?
I have no idea. Maybe the blonde on the piano...Kimberly? I'm only watching because I can't take any more of the debate.

3. I like Carly but I think she needs to listen to people's critiques more
Am I the only one who thinks Mariah Carey stinks?

14. I like Mariah.
Her voice could be annoying at times with all those high-pitched shrieks but she does have an amazing voice. 5-octave. That's Julie Andrews territory. You have to respect that.

17. Mariah Carey Does stink
in my opinion too.

I hated the performance of hers on Idol last night... The song was so overproduced and the back up singers were doing all the work - It also looked like she was lip syncing.

As for who should go next week?

Brook White.

5. Spoiler ->
spoiler below

It hasn't aired yet here in California, but the show just ended and was broadcast on the east coast live. The Idol message boards are saying Kristi Lee Cook went home tonight.

6. SPOILER

She was never close to my favorite, but she was getting better. Brooke White is my favorite, even though she sounded nervous on "Hero." David Cook is the most overrated IMO. I don't get him at all. Last year, I thought Elliott was overrated, but saw his appeal at least.

9. Not my favorite either, but
I think she'll do well as a country/western singer, on the rodeo circuit, state fairs, that sort of thing. I liked David Cook a lot at first, but it seems like he just does the same treatment to every song, and it's starting to sound like the same thing over and over. They over-praised him last night.

Finally! She should have gone home weeks ago, IMO. Definitely before Michael Johns!

I'm happy Brooke was safe... I think her days are numbered, but I still like her. Someone really needs to advise her on "song choice."

Oh, I agree on Johns! That made me so mad. Could it be that people assumed he was safe? He was a favorite of mine.

10. If they had a Joni Mitchell night,
she would wipe the floor with the competition.

11. Brooke is my favorite...but I agree that her days are numbered.
She doesn't have the vocal range and the "vocal stylings" that people seem to want.

I thought her version of "You're So Vain" was amazing, but she was a bit shaky last night.

12. Thanks for spoiling - seriously. Now that I know it's Kristy and that
Miriah is performing, I won't feel bad at all about missing it. You know, Kristy is proud to be American, where at least she is freeeeeeee (except for wiretapping, internet snooping, low wage jobs, crap public schools, and crooked bankers, for starters, and just wait 4 years if Insane gets elected, whoops there goes freedom over your own reproductive choices).

Seriously, I think that song was THE jump the shark moment for AI, at least for me.

There are things about America I am very proud of, I just don't go around singing trite, stupid, schlocky songs about it.

And i don't know how to spell Miriah's name because I don't listen to her. :D :D

13. And Simon Cowell called "God Bless The USA" a "brilliant song" and Lee Greenwood
a "brilliant songrwiter." And last night, Simon made it known that he's never heard of a luau and doesn't know what a luau is.

15. Simon was covering his ass with those comments -
Simon's intelligent enough to know who watches the show and berating a patriotic song and its composer would have created a pretty major storm the following morning.

That said, what I think Simon probably meant was that is was a brilliant song choice which there's no denying it was.

Granted, she got lucky in that she fell ass backwards into the song strictly on it being released the year she was born (the theme of that week) That said, it hit a bullseye with the people who were likely to vote for KLC. On a week when most people probably had her pegged to go home she managed to stick around and outlasted people who probably had stronger followings up till then.

16. Good points.
I really don't think Simon is ever going to listen to "God Bless the USA" again, by choice at least.

18. Yep...I thought the same thing. He was stuck in a bind on that critique.
Simon is an Opera fan and GBTUSA is in the opposite direction.

I dispise it....
