Happy 44th birthday (sorta) to the Ford Mustang
The first production Mustang rolled off the assembly line in Dearborn, Michigan on March 9, 1964, and was introduced to the public at the New York World's Fair on April 17, 1964, via all three American television networks on April 19, and made an appearance in the James Bond film Goldfinger in September of 1964. It was one of the most successful product launches in automotive history. The Mustang sold over one million units in its first 18 months on the market.

I've always been a Chevy man, but one cannot dismiss the Mustang's effect on automobilia.

Oh, and dig the price back then: $2,368.

2. Our family had a '67
Gawd I loved that car. My brother took it with him while stationed in Brooklyn at Ft. Hamilton and the car finally succumbed to the rigors of NYC street-life.

3. I've had 3 'stangs myself.
My first car (an '85 that saved my life, thankyouverymuch telephone pole). Then two GT convertibles (an 89 and a 91).

Decent cars under 60k miles. After that, absolute shit in my experience. The 302 is bulletproof, but the transmissions, a/c and most electrical parts are rubbish.

Happy anniversary, though. But for the breakdowns, I did enjoy my Mustangs. When I'm rich, there'll be a '69 Boss 302 in one of my garages.
