I was a guinea pig at the dentists office
there was a salesman there selling a single tooth Novocain dispenser
or something like that..
What it is its a needle with a sensor that doesn't hurt and it goes into the gum around the tooth and a machine tells you where to put the Novocaine in and when to stop. So he did this and it was uncomfortable but painless. so the sales guy says.
you can do the procedure now without waiting, so my dentist said he was going to make sure I was numb, poked and poked no pain, numbness reached!
Then he asked me how I felt, and I told him my lip and cheek ARE NOT NUMB, my mouth
was not numb!!! no drooling or grossness..

so I said I feel as if I'm not ready yet, he said the tooth is numb though so lets pull it....

so he did and it didn't hurt and I can talk normally because only the tooth area got numb

AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

where was this shit when I was physically ill with fright to go to the dentist?????

2. So how was the cost of it compared to the traditional method?
I for one, would even switch dentists (and I love my dentist) for what you have described.

I am like you, I have become physically ill while waiting for dental work. And the fear was has always been about that shot whenever they have to do work.

3. I don't know to be honest
it was a bottom tooth in the middle and it cost $265
that included my envelope of gauze :)

I had 2 teeth pulled the other day on the top kinda in the middle and that cost
$452

So I guess it's a little more expensive..
not sure if the tooth is a factor in price...

The other method he used reminded me of a jack hammer....
he would put the needle in and press something and it kept pulsing...
but he would have to move it around and everthing got numb....

I am getting better at going to the dentist
I laid it on the line for him
told him I hated dentists, they scared me and all I have are bad memories.

he works with me and explains everything

5. Why don't you ask your dentist to look into it?
I think most dentists want to be as painless as possible and would welcome a tool like this.
