I got my ears pierced! At last! Randomly!

In Day's with the madre at about 7 ET tonight--she asks, out of nowhere, with a glint in my direction, "Do you do ear piercings??"

"Sure!" says the woman behind the counter.

20 minutes later I have holes in my ears filled with golden ball studs. I think I'm one of the few females around over 12 who still, as of dinner time tonight, had unpierced ears. Madness!

I have been up, down, intoxicated, sober. How have you been?

The parrotlets are in their mating season and Piri, the hand-fed, human-comfortable, female is protective of Piers right now. Parrotlets and Eclectus are the two parrot species where the females act more aggressive.

A shame as Piri, without Piers, is quite adorable and loving. But having seen her without a companion, she was very stressed too. She needs Piers.

Now if only they'll make some babies. That'll be worth it all. Parrotlets are the best species ever; so funny to watch, and so cute...

Parrotlets! That's what they were. Baby parrotlets would be adorable, I'm sure.

I've got a bigger bird--African Grey. I love the little'uns, though. :D

I kept promising myself I would get my nose pierced for my 16th birthday... that was 4 months ago. Still haven't done it yet, but I plan to...eventually.

4. I never really ever thought about ear piercings--it wasn't that I didn't want them, just that I

never got around to it.

In six weeks I can hopefully wear all the earrings I've accumulated over the years from well-meaning but unaware friends and relatives.

7. my ears were pierced

when I was 14 in the middle of the mall
we were there waiting for the bus to go to court
I had to testify against my ex-boyfriend
we were in a horrible accident
and yes I was there but it was his fault
and .. well another story for another time :)


so my mom thought I couldn't be more nervous

she let me get my ears done!!!\

8. My daughter got her ears pierced last summer, at the age of 17.

She just wasn't interested before then.
