What are some of your favorite 80's songs? |
|
I'm coming up on my 20th. high school reunion (class of 1988) & just got to thinking about some 80's songs I really liked...Many are popular top 10 hits, along with a few obscure ones as well.....Some of my favorites are:
"With or Without You" - U2
"Boys of Summer" - Don Henley
"Everybody Wants to Rule The World" - Tears For Fears
"Tonight, Tonight, Tonight" - Genesis
"Saved By Zero" - The Fixx
"Call Me" - Blondie
"Eye of the Tiger" - Survivor (I think Survivor was on every Rocky soundtrack from Rocky III on, lol.)
"Wrapped Around Your Finger" - The Police
"View to a Kill" - Duran, Duran

1. All of "Paul's Boutique" and "License to Ill" |
|
The enitre FNM "The Real Thing" CD. That squeaked out in 1989. I was into (sigh) glam metal in high school (Poison, Cinderella, Britney Fox, etc) as well as the Beasties.
I'd add most of U2's catalog through the 80's, especially the Live Under a Blood Red Sky.
I graduated in '89, so my 20 year is coming up next year, and I've found myself tuning in quite a bit to Classic VH1 and the reruns of Yo! MTV Raps that they've been playing.

4. Remember when MTV actually played VIDEOS, lol |
|
Edited on Sat Apr-19-08 03:29 PM by Hawaii Hiker
I can still remember some of the original DJ's; Martha Quinn, Alan Hunter, Marc Goodman; when they played music & not the other stuff as they do now..
Now, the music/videos have been replaced by non-stop reality shows..

of "save the weak" the other day. (I'm feelin' bad! I'm feelin' sad!)
I mean: Poison, everybody knows; Cinderella, they had their share of radioplay; but Britney-fucking-Fox--that's the sign of a connoisseur. :) :hi:

All from Foreigner's "Head Games" Everything Van Halen sang Everything on Pat Benatar's "In the heat of the night" Everything by Powerstation in their short time
This was still during my rocker chick days: "Rebel Yell" Billy Idol "Do You Wanna Touch me" Joan Jett "If I Close My Eyes" Lita Ford/Ozzie Osborne "Welcome to the Jungle" Guns n Roses
Then the vintage 80's music I liked: "Tainted Love" "I wear my sunglasses at night" "Atomic"-Blondie "Still they ride"-Journey "I Feel for you" Chaka Kahn "Jungle Love"-Morris Day and the Time "the A Train" "You Keep Me Hanging On"-Kim Wilde
