Poll question: What is your favorite fruit? |
|
I'm eating a very juicy and yummy orange which makes me think about fruits. What's your favorite?

Seriously though, I love blackberries. Not too sweet or tart, just a nice mellow fruit with plenty of juice and flavor if its own. :P

A little more kick, a little more sugar.
And Harvey Firestein is frikkin' awesome. I remember seeing a little speech he did for some kind of GLBT awareness event a year or two ago... they played it on PBS and it was just awesome. He just cut right past the bullshit and made a great speech. Cut through the anti-gay propoganda bullshit we hear all too often and made a simple case for equal rights. I don't even remember the details anymore, it's been a while, but it was awesome. :P

only because I interpreted the poll as "fruit eaten by itself". My favorite fruit is strawberries, but I can't tolerate them plain--too sour. I like them sliced up and sprinkled with a little bit of sugar, or diced up and put into a blender with some ice, lowfat vanilla yogurt, and a spoonful of sugar. :)
My absolute favorite fruit to eat raw and plain is white grapes--but only the really sweet, burst-in-your-mouth juicy kind. The semi-mushy ones are gross. :hi:

43. oh is that ever true. LOVE them. |
|
but I also like: Jazz Pink Lady Pacific Rose Gala Pinata
thanks to Weight Watchers and Central Market I have become quite the variety seeker in the apple area. CM usually has about a dozen different varieties at any given time. And they always always have Minnesota Honeycrisps in the fall.

10. The perfect nectarine in season. The perfume alone is intoxicating. |
|
The taste on top of a morning cereal or in a fruit compote is delightful to your sense of sight as well as smell and taste.
For that matter, MOST fruit in season is wonderful. Strawberries in June. Those little wild blueberries from Maine that are in season for about one week in August...

I think in every other food category I can name a favorite, but with fruit, there are too many that are my favorites, there's no way I can narrow it down to one or even a few.
Fruit rocks.

but my favorite favorite of all is a really good peach or nectarine in season. So I voted for those
