1. Awesome..
I love how the old-school tough guys also were (by and large) pretty damned good at putting the puck in the net too.

4. Yes, #24 could fight and score
Hockey is not as fun as it was back in those days. But I am enjoying the play-offs.

2. Terry.
Hell of a player, hell of a left hook. Back from the days I loved the Bruins.

5. He had a great left hand, that's for sure
He was a joy to watch on a regular basis. He's still a legend in Boston.

3. I'm not a big hockey fan...
but today's the last day the rink I skate at is open... and I'm too sick to go.

There is another rink that'll be open over the summer... but the open skate times aren't as convenient for me, and it's expensive as hell.

Seriously though, now that I'm fairly decent on ice I've been thinking about giving hockey a try. I'm not much of a sports guy... but I can skate forwards and backwards and I've got the mass to handle crashing into somebody and the agility to avoid it most of the time, so I figure it's worth a try. :)

7. Go for it, sweets... i didn't start playing until my mid-20s either...
In my case, it wasn't acceptable for girls to play. Still, i played for about 7 years, until my bod couldn't cut it any more.

That cold, slightly chlorinated smell inside a rink drives me nuts even now, and i have only skated maybe 3 times in the past 10 yrs.

8. Just curious - why it wasn't acceptable for girls to play?
Was it your family, the area that you lived in, or no opportunities for it?

We're the same age, and I was playing in a league when I was 12. Then again, I'm above the 49th. :hi:

9. Ahhh...one of Boston's finest.
The guy was a blast to watch play. All out all the time, no quarter given and none asked. One of my faves from the good ole days.

10. I loved watching Terry O'Reilly.
Sure, he was well known for his fighting, which he was darn good at, but he was also a good player, not a goon. In his earlier days, he wasn't that good a skater but he was a very hard worker and through hard work and practice he became a really good player.

12. Good observation about #24
He was a hard worker, which symbolized the style of the Bruins.

11. One look at any post of mine would tell anyone that I'm rooting against the Bruins, but
after the past couple of games I have to say that if Boston wins, they deserve it. Montreal has played like a team already looking to the second round.

13. You've got to give the B's credit
They were down, what, 3-0, and came back to tie the series? I have nothing but respect for Montreal.

14. So used to helmets now, it looks so weird to see them playing without them.
