I'm finally watching season 4 of Deadliest Catch |

My commentary starts here:
These guys are timing themselves on getting into their survival suits with lots of space, and with the lights on.
That's just stupid. Test yourselves with getting into those suits in the dark, in a smoke-filled room, that room being crowded by all the other guys on the ship.
Train hard, train like how it's really going to be. You just might live, but the water isn't going to give you a timeout. Your guys, no matter how much you are tight, are going to tear your suit away from you if they don't have one. If you don't get away from them you will both die. If you struggle with them, you will both die. If you have a source of light, blow out a small amount of air bubbles and watch them, they will lead you up and out of your ship.
If you make it to the surface, drop your boots immediately. Use your pants as a flotation device. Tie off the legs, and slam the waist down against the water to create an air bubble. Hold on to your new life vest, aka your pants. Never give up
The Captain consider 36 seconds acceptable. It should be done in 9 seconds.
