ok, screw cigarettes
I know, I know, I'll have to find some replacement vice to stay on top of my quota, but... I am quitting. The last one I had was Saturday evening, and was a pretty light smoker anyway (like a pack or so a week). The hardest part for me is the routine rather than the physical side of the addiction - I sometimes enjoy the act of it, and I also like stepping outside for a 5 minute social break, whether I am smoking or not, and drinking will be the harder test. But oh well, I decided to be committed about it, and I am usually pretty good at that sort of thing.

2. no. I'm thinking of something less addictive such as heroin or cocaine
but probably will stick to candy or gum if I need something to orally fixate on.

I just made myself blush. lol.

4. Yay! Good for you!
On April 16, I quit as well. I went cold turkey after cutting back over the period of 5 weeks. It helped that my boyfriend quit cold turkey about 4 weeks before me. I also quit drinking except for the very occasional glass of wine. The alcohol made me crave nicotene.

Good luck and keep the chewing gum handy! :)

6. Way to go. It is a tough nut to crack. But you're way ahead of the game
by smoking only a pack a week. So you should be able to get through those social situations where you used to smoke. Try the Quitnet.com if you need some moral support. It is filled with hundreds of quitters and they've got your back.
