actually, another one of my stupid "science" questions.
on an episode of Weeds, this person said that if you want a dog (pit bull, in this case, who was trained to harm) to let go of something, it will if you stick a finger up its ... sphincter. I mean, I guess logically that would make any mammal perk up and pay attention, but... was this a total goof, or is this something that people have actually used???

1. That's probably an excuse the police have heard a few times. |
|
But I've never heard of its being used in real life.

2. LOL, I'd like to meet the guy who discovered that |

I mean, that's near the bottom of my list of things to try when a dog has hold of my leg...

I've found that what works best to break contact and defuse the situation is spraying water directly in the face of the aggressor - a hose works well because of the water pressure but a bucket of water will work as well.

7. Untrue, unless trained as such. |

If you want a dog to "let go of something" then the usual should work.
If you have to stick a finger up his/her ass, they you're probably training them wrong and I'd love to personally have your bloody address you pillock cocksucker.

the dog in question belonged to a drug dealer and he bit someone and all these guys were afraid to get anywhere near its mouth, so the character Kevin Nealon (old SNL) plays said this bit about the finger.
the show is a dark comedy/satire about a woman whose husband dropped dead while out jogging in their mcburb and she becomes a pot dealer to maintain her middle class lifestyle. No one is the perfect character, and there are consequences for stupid things, and the contrast b/t the suburban pta mom and the inner city school-crossing guard drug dealer mom is sooo good.
the story gets "darker" as it goes along (3 seasons) - if you like Zooey Deschanel, she's all over the end of the 2nd season. very funny.
if you wanna see the series, you can watch it online at watchtvsitcoms.com
but you know, if you want to get an animal to take a pill, sometimes you stroke its throat.... okay, not quite the same.
