You've already paid for them, so you might as well eat them.
Just take it as new information gathered and don't purchase the same brand again. ;)

3. Boycott the Olympics, of course. |
|
Georgia produces the best peaches. It also hosted the Olympics a while back. Coincidence? I THINK NOT! :P

4. Good point. Georgia does grow good peaches, and Olympics. |
|
I won't go to the Olympics until they're in Georgia again!! That'll show 'em!

5. Exchange them for American peaches and let the store know you weren't happy! |
|
I definitely wouldn't eat them or donate them to a food pantry either.

13. Yeah, I'd feel bad giving 'em to a food pantry. |
|
I mean, if I'm concerned about eating myself, why would I give 'em to the poor? But I know lots of people who would.

14. I don't want to eat them because of concerns about their safety. |
|
I mean, they come from a country that puts melamine in wheat gluten and lead on toys. I doubt the safety of any food from China. If I don't think they're safe for me, why would I give 'em to poor people (or anyone else) to eat?

23. The people at the food bank screen the food. |
|
You're assuming that the peaches are poisoned, based on nothing. If you do have proof of poison, contact a class action attorney.

they aren't. I'd rather buy food from countries with some semblance of inspections and safe food handling. But that's me. You want 'em?

8. Ah, Hell, ALL out food is made in China nowadays. |
|
Chances are, if you took them back, the nest can would be from China too, or Mexico, and my aunt says they "do things with human stuff" to the food down there. :tinfoilhat: grin and eat 'em. That's what I always say. Of course, I'm not usually referring to peaches.

I want the store to know my concerns, and that importing stuff from China might cut into their profits.

20. I'll bet the rest of the world does this about products made in the US. |
|
"I'm not supporting that militaristic, sexist, racist, homophobic nation that pollutes our skies and waters with their greedy corporations, and our minds with their vapid film and music industries. Besides, their FDA is in bed with the food industries, so they have no regulations. That food is unreliable and unsafe! And their president is a human rights abuser and a war criminal!"
No one likes anyone these days.

|
I would take them back. Maybe the peaches were processed correctly but what about the can? Do you think that an economy that puts lead paint on childrens toys might be behind the curve on other health & safety issues?

the pervasiveness of "Made in China" products in our country is so complete that it is next to impossible to get through regular existence without something from there.
And for those of us on the near-poverty line, not even a possibility at all.
