Motivate me
I have so much school work to do, I need someone to kick my ass into gear. If I want to submit artwork for the student show, I need finished and matted pieces by Friday. I have one graphite that is basically finished but needs more shading work, a charcoal that is way too light needing serious attention, and a pen and ink still life that is 70% done. None are matted.

I'm still kicking myself for letting home issues sidetrack me from submitting stuff for a student art booklet last month. Some of my classmates had artwork accepted in it. It is an annual thing, so there is always next year but...

:banghead:

Maybe I need to go to the school studio. The house is too distracting.

3. Sorry...
If I find any motivation, I'll need to apply some of it to myself--but I can share the rest!

I have three--no, wait, four--stories due by the end of the week, and Friday's out because MG Jr.'s kindergarten assessment is that day. Yeahhhh two days, four stories, and here I sit camped out on DU. Ain't it always the way?

I hear you about the house being distracting. I'm forcing myself NOT to do laundry or cook or paint the bathroom, and instead sit at my 'puter, which is only kind of working (to wit: camped out on DU).

Definitely go to the studio. I need a laptop so I can get the heck away from distracting things myself. Good luck! :hi:

20. As an art teacher ...
Finish the graphite and mat it. One finished piece.

then finish the charcoal and mat it. Charcoal is a fast medium to work in, and should not take you long to do.

Then you have two completed pieces for the show.

Then turn to the pen-and-ink still life, and do what you can, depending on how detailed you like to be and how much time you have, and mat that.

You can have one to three pieces ready for the show, this way, and will at least get something in.

26. I should have read this post first. LoL.
I worked on the pen & ink. I'm going to tackle the graphite one next. I don't have matting material here at home, but I can probably get them matted tomorrow.

Thanks for the advice. :D
