Last Tuesday I had a horrific pain in my right ankle so I went to my podiatrist on Thursday, I went back yesterday.
My right Peroneus brevis tendon is pulled or something.
Anyway he took my orthetics back to get re-surfaced or something and he said that I had to wait for the orthetics to run again. I have run in them once and didn't like it-he says that is over I have to wear them all the time now.
As for the pain-he said stay off it and if I wanted to I could run the marathon
12 days from now.
At this point it looks like it will be really tough. I have a lot of pain when I first stand up. Walking is okay once I get started.

2. Ice (and R.I.C.E.) is really only good for the first 48 hours |

I was on Celebrex (yikes!) but I stopped taking it when my face got fire engine red and I couldn't cool down-Sunday

3. Yeah, my dad took that and had the same reaction. |

He has osteoarthritis in both knees. (To be honest, I hate icing stuff; I'm just parroting my physical therapist. :D)
Are you running a full or half-marathon?

but funy thing about this race it is an out-and-back then out-and-back on the same course so you basically can/have to decide at the half way point if you want to get your fair share of abuse that day.
