Hi everybody! Can I say..sedation rocks!

I'm back the procedure is done...and it was sooo much better this time around (this is my second BMB) with sedation. I was out like a light last thing I remember is them swabbing the hip where they were going in and the next thing I know, I was being told..its all over...I woke up and wondered, what are all these people doing in my hotel room...:)
So far, almost no pain, but thats probably cause I'm on pain killers. I do feel very good and happy at the moment!
Plus its like 70 degrees with bright sunshine outside!!:woohoo:
Thanks for all the well wishes.It really brightened me up to see that. Now, all I have left is a CT scan tomorrow and then I will see the doc on Friday..I really like the people here at Mayo..everybody is sooo nice and friendly!!:hi:

my son had some teeth pulled recently and he was sedated out of his mind. my wife was getting a good laugh out of some of the stuff that he was coming out with.

Hopefully the painkillers will alleviate any discomfort you might experience later.
CT scan should be a breeze and I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that the Dr's have some good
answers for you on Friday. Hang in there.

PS: back in '77 when I had a bone marrow sample taken for biopsy it was done in my breast bone. NO sedation just numbing of the skin. NEVER AGAIN.

well, a mild one. I think I got mildly hooked on my Vicodins from my operation last week - I've been a grumpypuss the last couple of days...

18. It's very easy to get "kind of" hooked on Vicodin.

I've had to take it for a week at a time and it was not at all easy getting off them. The depression was horrible.

Try to stay awake to enjoy the high. Usually they will give you Versed and Demerol or something, for pain and to cause you to forget.

Are CT scans similar in time to MRIs? I've only had MRIs and since I'm not claustrophobic I didn't have any problems other that not being able to move to scratch my leg for half an hour.

Only about 10 minutes or so. The hardest part will be drinking the barium..YUCK!!
