What a classy lady! She could make a fortune pimping products on TV, but doesn't. She lives here in the Bay Area, and by all accounts that I've heard, she's a very nice woman, very down to Earth for someone who had once been the most famous person in America.

I agree with MonkeyFunk. I'm not going to get into that "OMG, they're a Republican! I can't watch their movie/television series" thing anymore. One of my very favorite sitcoms...ever...was "Frasier". Yes, Kelsey Grammer is a Republican...but that doesn't lessen my appreciation for this clever, witty series.

Shirley seems to be a "old style" Republican, not the wacko right wing variety. In any case, I have too many happy memories watching her movies when I was little to dislike her over a thing like politics.

Really, who cares? I don't see how it's possible to go through life dividing absolutely everything into "my side" and "the other side".

As far as noxious Republicans go, she's got to be close to the bottom of the list. She's served as an ambassador and head of protocol - pretty innocuous positions.
