other two...going by last night's performances, they were the weakest links. Go figure:shrug:

6. I'm surprised that I'm surprised... |

When I first heard about her back story and having had a record deal with a major label that blew several million on her only to have her career go nowhere I got annoyed because I thought she was some kind of ringer. And I was looking forward to when she got the boot. But I completely warmed up to her, both because she had a really good, aggressive voice without being too "rock chick" in a forced manner but also because of how annoying most of the other top 12 contestants were/are.
But every week the judges just tortured her and she kept trying. They would just lambaste her even on the best nights, yet completely overlook horrible, redundant performances by that annoying teenager who they clearly want to win for some reason or another.
Hopefully she gets another record deal or something because she does have a great voice.

7. i was so happy, she's a phoney little attention-seeking brat |
|
it's a amateur singing competition and she's already been paid a million dollars for her work. Plus, on Mariah Carey week she acted all shocked to have met her, but she already met Mariah once before, and Mariah complemented her on her singing.
Not that I know why, she was horrible. She sang everything like a female version of Meat Loaf, without the vocal chops to go along with it.
Plus she was just flat-out annoying and fake. This show was supposed to be about someone getting their big break, not about a failed recording artist getting their second chance.
But then again, this whole show is fake. Nearly every contestant has had some sort of professional experience. Plus it's not really a singing competition, it's a voting competition.
The singing is just a front for the advertisements and the dialing of phone numbers and the $1.00 service fee that Idol receives for making stupid preteens call in to vote for their favorite.

10. I don't like her either |

and I think she had an agent that got her placed on that show, and it was just wrong. I was happy she got the boot.
Correct me if I am wrong, though. American Idol doesnt charge for votes. The only time charges apply is for cell phone fees, but you can call from a land line and it is free.

Who are you? Do you think you're what they say you are??????
Yeah - that played well to Idol voters. Andrew Lloyd Webber recommended it to her and he did her in.

16. I thought she got the boot because she faked the chorus |
|
She wasn't able to hit the high notes, so she just did this affected rocker-chick wail and let the back-up singers take up the slack.
I'm mystifed the blond girl is still there (forget her name). Who keeps voting for her? She sucks!! SUCKS!!! And she knows it.

19. As average as Kristy Lee Cook was she should have outlasted Brooke |
|
Say whatever one wants about "God Bless the USA", Kristy actually started to improve after that week while Brooke peaked with her performance of "You're so Vain" and has gradually bottomed out since then.

In her element as a country singer, Kristy Lee Cook seems like the Real Deal.
I think people keep voting for Brooke because she always looks like she's about to cry, and they feel sorry for her. How could Michael Johns have been voted off while someone like Brooke sticks around against all reason???

22. Brooke has become the new Sanjaya albeit one with some talent |
|
I agree that people are keeping Brooke around almost strictly to see what happens when the mental locomotive completely derails.
She has no stage presence and appears to be on the verge of collapse unless she's got an instrument to shield herself with. That said, Neil Diamond week seems to be something she can get a handle on since the songs lend themselves to the contestants using instruments and Neil has some numbers that translate themselves to a folkier approach which seems to be her forte. .

20. Carly's been in bottom three for a number of weeks |
|
By all accounts, her's was one of the better performances of the night but she never had a fan base that helped her keep up with either David A. or David C.
Same could be said with the contestant that was the other one up for elimination (Syesha ?)
