I hate to say it, because I am a total fan of Lewis Black, but "Root of Evil" is awful. |
|
I've watched four or five episodes, and while each has had funny moments, it's not well done and comes across like a bad 1970s variety show.
It feels half-assed and unthoughtful, and not at all like the brilliance and well-developedness of Lewis' other work.
Quite a disappointment.

I'm a big fan of Lewis Black, but this show is just not good.
Not good at all.

5. Give a funny person their own show |
|
and suddenly they're not funny anymore. I love his stand up and the Back in Black he does on the Daily Show, but ROE is kind of annoying.

6. I don't understand why he would have a show where he barely does any of the talking |
|
There are few good one liners in there I guess, but once you've seen one, you've seen them all.
