So, not only does my backside hurt where they did they bone marrow biopsy, but I have a really bad headache that started at about 3am. The problem is I'm not allowed to take anything with aspirin for 6 days because of my surgical wound...and all my painkillers here, including my headache medicine have aspirin in them. I was so desperate for relief that I got up at 3am and went out to the soda machine to get something with caffeine in the hope that it would help..It did..but now, I can no longer even go that route because I have to start fasting for my CT scan this afternoon! Argh! :banghead: Well right after my CT I'm going to get lunch and some Tylenol and come back and sleep I think....x( Did I mention being sick sucks?!:(

They should at least give you some tramadol or something for your pain. x(
 I'm thinking about you today. I hope your pain subsides and your tests go well.

4. I think they need me to be alert... |
|
Which is why I need to get some Tylenol. I wish I had thought about this sooner or I would have gotten some in my spare time before my procedure yesterday....I can deal with the back pain by sitting still..its the headache at the moment which is REALLY bothering me.

6. do you have more pain meds? |
|
I don't know why you should need to have this pain... I understand no aspirin b/c of clotting, but otherwise? Too bad mj isn't legal. It would deal with the headache pain immediately... as well as other pain. yet another example of American stupidity that you cannot use herbs that work to deal with a problem. not addictive, no long-lasting effects. you should not have to deal with headache pain on top of all else.

8. Weird that they drilled your ass and gave you a headache |
|
One is tempted to speculate about connections...
Seriously--you know my thoughts on your situation, and I hope that your ordeal goes quickly! I'll save a big can of caffeine-rich Coke for you.

It just occurred to me that "they drilled your ass" might have been an indelicate choice of words.
Sorry about that.
But drink up! Cleanse your body of all those nasty toxins that your Kinoki swabs failed to catch.

15. I'd almost rather have anything |
|
but a headache. That damn bone pain is something else! I had always thought that an abdominal incision had to be the worst ever but in Nursing school they taught us that bone pain is the worst. I've had a couple of grafts and the donner sites were exquisitely disgustingly agonizing. Poor you. Why didn't they give you a narcotic to get you through? Is there some reason you can't tolerate a short term use of codeine or vicodin? Stingy bastards.

16. Well, I guess you have had your CT by now, I hope the Tylenol helped. |
|
Please call your doc and ask for some pain med that doesn’t contain ASA. I can’t believe they didn’t send you home with something.

Ask for some Ultram or either Vicodin or Darvocet for the pain tonight. I am sure they will write a small Rx for you.

18. Can you get them to prescribe the painkillers without aspirin or tylenol? |
|
I know they make versions of vicodin/percocet/oxycontin without aspirin/acetaminophin/ibuprophen--I'm surprised they didn't give you those in the first place since you're forbidden from taking aspirin until you're healed up. :-(
That really sucks--I hope the pain lets up soon.
