Diabetes claimed my Grandmother's second toe |
|
Edited on Thu Apr-24-08 12:56 PM by Roon
She has to stay off her foot for two weeks except to go to the bathroom and to bed. I now have to cook for my Grandparents three times a day while she recovers. I can cook for myself, but I am not good for cooking for others. This is going to be a real challenge for me.

That is really nice to hear. Now that I think about it, most of their meals are heat and serve,so it shouldn't be too tough,I just hope they don't expect gourmet! LOL

4. I am going to look into that |

I said in a previous post that most of their food is heat and serve, but I would like to try out other things. Me living next door is keeping them out of the nursing/assisted living, so I really need to step up!

It claimed my dad's left leg four years ago. I wish it had just been a toe.

Rejoice in each day. And good luck.
I know about diabetes and its effects. Hubby developed it in his late 30s, wasn't diagnosed until he was 44, and died in March, age 61. He was on dialysis for 2.5 years, and died of congestive heart failure.

Kudos to you for doing all that you can to help your grandparents. I`m quite sure they will appreciate whatever you fix for them, because it will have the "magic" ingredient (LOVE).
