Yesterday was fantastic. Today has been awful.
I got both of my writing awards yesterday, although I won't get the money for a few weeks still. I had a wonderful time at the ceremony, received a lot of praise and admiration from the English Department staff, and got my first publication offer (my winning paper is going to be published in next year's English 101 textbook). I looked and felt beautiful for the first time in weeks, I was elated to receive the affirmation I've so desperately needed, and the kittens were extra-snuggly when I got home. The whole day was just perfect.

Today I woke up with a backache, accidentally left a homework assignment on my desk when I left this morning, got tongue-tied in Poli-Sci and embarrassed myself, got into a nasty argument with one of my best friends (who informed me that he was switching his support to Obama because he's "tired of being called a racist" and then proceeded to call Hillary a "cunt", at which point I told him Fuck You and walked away), and then had to listen to the idiotic fucking bus driver going on and on about our "Great President Bush's tax rebate" coming soon--his words exactly, by the way, repeated about twenty fucking times. Oh, and Deb and I got into a tiff because we're both stressed out over term papers, portfolios, and (of course) money.

I am THIS close to an absolute screaming meltdown. Is there such a thing as De-Infuriating Tea?

1. Scream away!
There's nothing better than taking a few minutes and screaming like a banshee. Great stress reliever!

Congrats on all your awards and getting published!! You must be on cloud nine. Hold on to that feeling and ignore all the outside, infuriating BS.
