Regardless of whatever the ultimate action is on the FLDS case, I have one fervent hope.

That the children who are in foster care right now experience the following, and as soon as possible:

Bugs Bunny cartoons
An ice cream cone
Frequent laughter
Playing outside in their bare feet, and getting as dirty as humanly possible

And that's just for starters. Yes, I've heard all the full-throated arguments for respecting their "religious beliefs," but by god, I hope those kids get to experience warm, funny, happy childhood in psychadelic freaking color. I want them to know they have options, and that it's not a sin to laugh.

at some point. I'll have to hunt that up. Even without that, these kids need unconditional love...and no one loves unconditionally like a pet!
