I tried to save a gopher tortise today. But saw it slaughtered before my eyes.

I live in GA and saw a gopher tortoise trying to cross the road. Not an extremely busy road, but fairly so. I turned around and was going to assist. It was directly on the center line by that time.

I was off the road, on the shoulder and the next car coming deliberately ran right over that poor critter.

I was so mad I was shaking. :mad:

I wish I'd have been quick enough to catch the license #. The gopher's are a protected species. Maybe they'd have caught some grief for their little thrill.

and he steered his dad's caddy right at a possum. i gave him some things to think about - namely karma.

there is no reason to kill a tortoise. misanthropy is justified: people suck.
