How we attach such events to months and then move on from them when there is a change in months.

It all still happened, it is all still real and affecting us, but we try and start a new day when the term for the old one ends.

We tie events to cycles, much like people who examine astrology do.

Somewhere in all that is something interesting about the human mind :)

It is indeed a tough one, and we all have our reasons for that...I know I've had two very-tough consecutive Aprils...rebirth and renewal yes, but growing pains and heartaches too.
