This is one reason I refuse to make up powerpoint presentations with my sermon outlines. I don't actually know, of a certainty, what I'm going to say until I stand in the pulpit. I don't preach from a manuscript, or even notes. I study a text all week, and develop a really good sense of what I'm going to say. I may print out quotes I'm planning to use, or a sermon illustration, so I get 'em them right. But the full body of the sermon...that's a work in progress until I give it.

16. *lol* My dad used to say the same thing...he always played solitaire

(analog, not digital, hee hee) and he'd mull over his text and get his thoughts together, and when you heard him put the cards down and take the cover off the typewriter, you knew he had it. It was usually more like Friday night/Saturday morning, unless it was golf season ;-) Then he'd finish by WEDNESDAY because Thursday was Men's Night at the golf course and he had Friday afternoons off and Saturday he'd want to be golfing, and not worrying about preaching, at least until his usual Saturday night nightmare that he was in the sacristy tangled in his robes and couldn't get untangled to get out to the sanctuary *lol*
