I think I had food poisoning last night. |

I had some scallops for dinner at a seafood restaurant, and by 10:00 last night - well, it wasn't pretty.
I'm fine now, though.
I have no idea what that was about, since I wasn't violently ill or anything, and I was fine by the next day.

1. Allergy, perhaps? My brother is allergic to scallops and mussels. |
|
However, he can eat other shellfish (shrimp, lobster).
If he eats something like a sauce that even has bits of scallops in it, he barfs his brains out.

I've had scallops a million times before, and that's never happened.

4. Interesting combo...I can eat shrimp but no lobstah, crab, scallops or calimari. |
|
I found out by getting sick as a dog after my sister's rehearsal dinner when I ate lobster bisque. Emergency room...shot me full of something and somehow I made it but told the preacher to keep it short and sweet. :)

2. food poisoning is usually coming out of both ends to put it politely. |
|
sounds like you had a reaction to the food rather than poisoning.

5. Sounds like food poisoning, but I ate shellfish for years before it made me sick. |
|
So you just might want to keep it in mind...but glad you're feeling better!

6. When I had food poisoning I ended up at the hospital. |
|
"Violently ill" doesn't begin to describe it. Maybe you had something else because I imagine if your scallops were actually bad, you'd have been much worse off. Maybe?

Yeah, I don't know. Might have been a case of eating too much too fast. Or possibly a little stomach bug, or something.

8. I had food poisoning once from a reduced-price pre-made supermarket meal |
|
One of those "take $1 off the stamped price" deals because it was the final day it was allowed in the display case.

9. Yeah, seafood seems to fuck with people's stomachs more than other types of cuisine. |
|
I seem to be basically immune to food poisoning, considering I've eaten meat and eggs that were well past their expiration date, not to mention various undercooked things, yet I never had any problems.
