I guess I wasnt paying attention last week, but I just rewatched it and noticed the constellation Orion. Are they getting close? From a quick search at scifi.com, it isnt the first constellation sighting.

4. I did notice that
I think that is what it means. If you look again it was slightly distorted, implying they were some distance from Earth.

8. SPOILER (in case someone taped it or something)
I could hardly stand the tension between Adama and Tyrol. That scene was brutal.

Its funny... as the series goes on, I feel the creators have done a good job of showing what I think would really happen to people who have lost everything, stuck on cramped ships, running for their lives. At first it was a big idealistic family, and lots of love. By the end, almost every relationship has been thrown through the ringer, and no one looks very pure... save perhaps Lee. It's been amazing to watch Laura change over the seasons. I actually think of her more as an antagonist now than as the sort of noble leader I once did. It's been great, though dark, character development.

I'm sad that this season does not include much Dee. :(

9. Very, very close to Earth...probably.
Betelgeuse (the upper-left star), for instance, is a lot closer to us than most of the other stars in Orion. To see the constellation as we do, you have to be within a few light-years of Earth--or somewhere very close to our line of sight to the constellation.

I don't have any astronomical software installed that would let me take a cruise around, but it should be possible to test my opinion that way.

I'm not following the show, but I'd like to think that this imagery is a deliberate clue regarding the proximity of Earth rather than being mere lazy CGI.
