I heard that he woke up so drunk one day, that he had to call his wife's private investigator (who was tailing him for potential divorce proceedings) to ask him where he was!

Also, I heard that after decades of alcoholism, he rented a hotel suite, invited his friends over, drank champagne with them all night long... then never picked up a drink again.
