"Perco" is probably going to be his name. That or "Caffeinated".

He's a 6 month old Cinnamon Conure. Very acrobatic and loving, he took to me fairly quickly.

I have 15 days to make up my mind, but given the two parrotlets are happy with each other (and fun to watch when they get over the territorial aspect), I miss a more direct pet.

3. It's a beautiful bird.
Congratulations!

How long do conures live? I was amazed to learn that african grays live 75 years or something like that.

6. Up to 30 (or more) years. In theory.
The more I play with him, the more I love him.

Of course, choking and other hazards or bad luck can be factors, but I'm going to treat him the best I can. Zoe never wanted for anything...

7. My two parrotlets:

Once Piri took to newcomer Piers, I suspected it'd be over between us, but knowing what she would and would not play with (constant attention, did not know how to play with toys, would be catatonic and then neurotic), getting him was the best choice.

9. Beautiful, as well !
Will those two mate and give you parrotlets?

Will all three of them get along together, or do they have to have seperate cages?

10. Different cages!
:)

Piri already defends her territory and true love from even me, and she knew me a while.

If all birds were raised from babies, then they could potentially adapt. But not these birds due to their various ages and locales; and the conure being only 6 months old has a lot to learn. (the p'lets are thrice his age!)

I think the p'lets will mate; they are a male/female pair. But they are still too jumpy. But maybe in time. I still love them for what they are, and Piri has never been better adjusted. (a long story I tend to write for a bird publication...)

15. I always wanted a Sun Conure...
Except they get LOUD - too loud for apartments.

Cinnamons, Black-caps, maroon-bellies, and green-cheeks, are acceptably quiet.

17. Yes, he is loud as shit
I have a dove, finches, cockatiel, and an african grey. One thing though, he is a great watchdog. He starts screeching when anyone knocks on the door or goes by the window. :)

20. Yes.

6 months old, I rescued him from the pet store. I might call him "Rebate" because the money is coming from there. Not the best of jokes, I was taken by him/her as he/she was of me.

I did rescue two parrotlets from pet stores, each about 18 months old (way too old for most people), and I have no regrets, even if I do miss Piri's demure nature she now gives to Piers (a 100% human-feral bird). It's fun to watch them together; they are in love and birds are said to be monogamous.

As with Piri and Piers, I did see "Rebate", left the store for a couple days, came back and spent time with him. That clinched it. I knew if "Rebate" was to bite as much as the black cap I saw 4 months ago, no way would I get him. Plus, I've read stories from other people who make home to many birds of varying species.

But my fids* are complete at this point; I think I'll order supplies online and save future temptations; I once almost bought a Pionus... about 5 year sago. (* feathered kids)

I still need to think of a proper, regal, avian, anthropomorphic name for him...

:hi:

Oh, there was one other reason: I was 300 points away from a amazon.com certificate -- having not used the card in some time, I splurged. (I'm wholly trying to keep credit, investment, and savings plans under control, with some success but I need to be vigilant if I am to overcome wasteful spending. I have avoid far more expensive items and often return items too. But not "Rebate". I am... grateful. For many reasons.)
