I never thought I'd say this in my lifetime - but I need a new ballcock & flap |
|
My next boyfriend better be a fricking plumber.
My water will not stopping running on the toilet unless I hold the flap down while it fills.
The whole thing is going to have to be replaced.
Someone please tell me why owning is better than renting

If you go to fix it. Really, I think that is all that can go wrong. Plus, if you have a 2nd bathroom where can you go wrong :)

6. Easy and cheap repair. |
|
You can do it.
If you don't already possess one, buy a home repair guide. Little stuff like this is described in detail but the real value of the books is diagnostic (i.e. knowing when to do it yourself and when to call in an expert.)

9. Installing a new flapper is SIMPLE - even I figured it out. |
|
Installing a new fill valve is moderately more difficult, but still nothing you can't handle. I would also install a new supply line while you've got the water off. Your local Home Despot can walk you through it.

11. Don't get the old style.... |
|
Don't get the one with the big ball. They have a different style now that works great and is easy to install....let me know if you have an interest and I will try to find a link....
