I will not buy the products and services of companies that use Beatles songs in their commercials.
Even if they are remakes recorded for the commercial.

So far this year, Target and Hampton Inn are dead to me.

2. Gotta draw the line somewhere.
Using their songs in advertising is inappropriate and fucks with my soul.

3. Ok I hear ya,
I just didn't want you boycotting this without knowing why. I actually agree with you. Especially since Michael Jackson is probably the one getting the royalties off the songs.

5. Not the Beatles, but... I'm really goddamn tired of that MacBook Air song
I hear it EVERYWHERE now. The world does not need another warbling quavery-voiced indie songstress. One was too many.

8. Blame lazy ad people.
It starts there. Then their idiot clients. They approve it.

9. It's been my experience that the customers are the ones who insist on the most awful stuff
Like a used-car dealership that forced me (very much against my will) to put three frogs on lillypads across the top of their ad, saying:

"Gas" "Save" "Urrr"

I'm going to hell for even participating in that one.

10. LOL
You're in the ad biz, no doubt. True, it happens at both ends.

I've worked with writers whose first words upon getting a new assignment were "what song can we use?" Pathetic.
