Re: stimulus checks. If you used Turbo Tax or some other such program to get your return direct-
deposited, will you get your stimulus check direct-deposited as well?

I ask because I used turbo tax to e-file, and my return was direct deposited, but it went through some bank in Santa Barbara before it got to my bank. For purposes of the stimulus money, is the IRS considering this to be direct deposit, or did you need to e-file directly with the IRS in order to get your new check directly deposited?

The last two digits of my SSN are very low, and I still haven't received my stimulus money. I was assuming I'd get it this week, possibly even yesterday, and now I'm wondering if I'll have to wait for a paper check instead.

Thanks in advance for your help.

1. I'm in the same boat
I filed with TurboTax and paid for e-filing. My social is within the range for deposits to go in this week and still nothing.

2. Me too.
SS number should mean a payment this week, but I used TurboTax and we haven't got anything yet.

3. Hrm.
I just kind of presumed that all of the checks would be mailed. Do you have some specific info that says they will be direct deposited?

4. From the IRS website:
http://www.irs.gov/irs/article/0,,id=180250,00.html

People who use direct deposit also will be among the first to receive the payments starting April 28. Direct deposits will be made daily and completed by the date listed below:

DIRECT DEPOSIT

Last two SSN digits: Payments will be transmitted no later than:
00 through 20 May 2
21 through 75 May 9
76 through 99 May 16

Paper checks will also go out based on Social Security number. For Social Security numbers ending in 00 through 09, the paper checks will be mailed starting May 9 and will continue through May 16. A similar process will be repeated in the following weeks.
PAPER CHECK

Last two SSN digits: Payments will be mailed no later than:
00 through 09 May 16
10 through 18 May 23
19 through 25
May 30
26 through 38 June 6
39 through 51 June 13
52 through 63 June 20
64 through 75 June 27
76 through 87 July 4
88 through 99 July 11

People who file a return after April 15 will receive their economic stimulus payment, but probably about two weeks later than the schedule shows. A return must be filed by October 15 in order to receive a stimulus payment this year. See the online calculator for an estimate of the amount you will receive.

A small percentage of tax returns will require additional time to process and to compute a stimulus payment amount. For these returns, stimulus payments may not be issued in accordance with the schedule above, even if the tax return was processed by April 15.

6. Oh goody...
Looks like we've got two more weeks to wait if they send our electronically, or mid-July if they mail it...

I hope yours arrives soon! :)

Hey Bunny!

:hi:

I'm afraid I think that if Bush et al hadn't bolloxed up the economy so badly with their lack of regulation and huge and inefficient war spending, this wouldn't be necessary. :(

9. When I did my taxes via Turbo-Tax, I set up the direct deposit for my stimulus check.
I was told that I'd be getting $600 for my stimulus check. Turbo-Tax offered a choice of a paper check or direct deposit. They were pushing the direct deposit and since it would be faster, I chose that route. :-)

I read somewhere that people whose last 2 SS# end in 00-69 will get their stimulus money by 05/02. Those that end in 70-99 will get theirs by 05/09. I could be wrong on that, though.

10. I filed pretty early in January, which I think was before the stimulus thing was proposed
and passed. So I don't think I got asked if I'd like mine direct-deposited.
