Rude, Rude, Rude
Edited on Tue Apr-29-08 12:41 PM by Liberalynn
Okay, so I accompany my Mom to the Dentist, like a good daughter, because she's afraid because she hasn't been in awhile.

The TV is playing discreetly and a group of us are just sitting there reading minding our own business.

Then this snooty type lady comes in at the same time Commadant Cuckoo Bannas starts to make his speech. She doesn't even ask any of us if we minded first, she just proceeds to triple the volume, so you couldn't choose to ignore the dolt head, if you wanted to.

I found this so rude. She was fairly young and didn't have a hearing aid, so there was no call for her to turn it that loud, IMHO. I figured she must just have been a Dumbya fan and was trying to force us all to listen to the dolt.

I felt the urge to heckle him and I could barely contain it. Especially when he started the garbage about it's "all congress' fault" about the oil prices. I restrained myself though so as not to start a scene in the dentist's office and embarass my poor mother. So I just whispered to Mom, "I'm sorry I can't believe he has the nerve to stand up there and spout this crap. I don't know how much longer I can hold my tounge and I just can't take listening to him." "Will you be okay,?" So my Mom said I will be fine just come back in when you can. So I got out for a few minutes. When I went back in rude woman was gone in to her hygenist, so I snapped the idiot off.

The receptionist who hadn't been paying attention earlier asked me if I wanted it on, and I said no thanks, "I just can't take listening to Bush," and she said "that's okay, you can have it off, but I do have a remote if you want it."

Maybe I am just far too sensitive but I just can't listen to crap, and I thought that woman was rude for blasting us with it. If she kept it at a reasonable volume, I would have just ignored him. Before she came in I was just happily reading my book and didn't even know the Knumbskull was on. I'd forgotten just how much he irritates me, because I usually just don't watch anymore.

1. Personally I hate having a tv in an waiting room anyway
Why do people need to have the damn thing everywhere? They can't pick up a magazine and read? I find the damn things distracting and obnoxious no matter what's playing.

2. My dear Liberalynn...
That's a tough place to be!

I suppose you could have asked her to turn down the volume...

But I know it's hard to do that...

And I sure as hell don't think you're too sensitive!

:hi:

At least hearing his approval rating is lower than ever, cheered me up some!

6. I think that she did it to be considerate
Surely the agony of hearing that inarticulate asshole try to enunciate his way through a speech is worse than the pain induced by any dental anomaly, no matter how severe! I suspect that she turned up the volume so that people with root canals and impacted wisdom teeth could be distracted from their suffering, however briefly.

What's your problem? Why won't you let this concerned citizen alleviate others' pain? You insensitive boor!

8. I caught a few seconds of * yesterday, on CNN probably, making a "3 AM phone call" joke.
"It was the damn wedding planner!"

God, what a smarmy piece of shit our president is...

9. Good for you
I can't and won't be subjected to BS anymore. I got up and turned off fox news in a hospital waiting room a while ago and no one said a word. I must have looked like I meant business. I had three appointments a couple of months ago and everywhere I went I was subjected to smoke saturated people watching nascar.
It got to be funny after my 4th waiting room.

11. Waiting Rooms can be the worst, and the
thing is my Mom always wants to go early. Ours are at least all smoke free now.

12. Just the sound of his stupidity makes me cringe every time I hear him talk.
I swear, you can actually HEAR the stupid.

And the outright lies and general disgust I have of the man don't help either.
