Always wanted fuller lips, but NOT because of falling face first on the sidewalk
Just took a major dive while pulling trash container to curb.
Container caught caught on sidewalk corner, pulled me down a la tripped me, and went down on knees, then elbows, hands, and a first-class smash of chin, mouth and nose into sidewalk.

OUCH! Am icing it all...and looking like Angelina Jolie....

Sympathy posts and stories gladly accepted at this point. :eyes:

1. St. Patrick's Day '07: I fell face-first on the sidewalk, breaking two teeth and scraping/gashing
my forehead, not to mention the fact that my eye had swollen up like Quasimodo's within 24 hours. They even took me in for a CAT scan because they were afraid I might've fractured my skull/eyesocket.

Sorry about what happened to you, but at least your injury didn't require the installation of a $4000 bridge.

Thats terrible!

My teeth held up just fine, and managed to not have them cut the inside of my mouth...but, they did hit, and now inside front of mouth/lip area, is really swelling...not to mention the lovely bleeding scrape above my upper lip.

2. Sympathy, dear friend!
Also, a request for film footage. :P

  Sorry you hurt yourself. I have very few such tales since I am... lucky? But my favorite injury story, or actually one of two, is this: my sister, one year younger and intellectually my superior, was on the T in Boston. We were getting off at Harvard Square and she was being egotistical. To indicate her superiority she did a "hop" as we exited the train. She hit her head on the top of the door and fell to the ground, nearly senseless. I laughed myself sick and after the wooziness wore off, so did she.

Hi, Whoa_Nelly. I miss you on MySpace.

15. Sorry
But it can be cool . I have MS so my balance ain't good. I went face first into a bookcase. I was on the phone with Cal Peggy and she asked if I'd dropped something. "Yeah, me."

But my face was pretty messed up. And I felt like such a man - odd but the bruises and scars and sucking them up made me feel more male,

Try to do the same thang, female style.

22. I've told this before, but here goes again ...
A couple months ago I fell dead asleep on the couch at about 8:00 pm. About 6 hours later, I woke up in the dead and dark of night, and headed to the biffy on my way to bed.

I stepped on one of my cats on the way to the biffy, and when he screeched I immediately lifted my foot to save him, and lost my balance. Fell flat on my face and right side, HARD! My face landed on the bathroom scales, and broke it.

My mother lives here with me, and said the crash was so loud she thought the refrigerator had fallen over. She flew out of bed, turned on the lights, and there was blood everywhere. I had split open my eyebrow when my face landed on the scales. And broke my glasses.

I had a black and lacerated eye, completely swollen shut, a broken knuckle, and entire right side bruised, including my tit. I had to get x-rays on my eye orbit, hand, knee, and shoulder.

I should have just stepped on the little shit.

33. When I was a kid, my brother and I were playing a dumbass game
in which a blanket would be tossed over one of our heads, we'd be spun around mercilessly until we were totally disoriented, then we'd have to tag the other. When it was my turn, I tripped and fell face first onto the edge of the TV.

Naturally, our parents weren't home. But I had enough presence of mind to put ice on my black and blue lip. We didn't play that game again.

After a few months, I had to have it surgically removed.

That was after having ANOTHER splinter a year before -- surgically removed.

Life can really suck sometimes.

Between garbage trucks and my propensity for sticking the front wheel into places that would cause it to stop suddenly, it was becoming somewhat annoying.
