Poll question: Where would you go in a zombie attack?
Edited on Wed Apr-30-08 12:11 PM by charlie and algernon
The reports are coming in fast, the dead is rising from the grave. People that are bitten or even scratched are turning into zombies. Government has completely collapsed and all services (Police, fire, ambulance) are now nonexistant.

What do you do?

1. Other - WalMart.
They have everything you need and not a lot of windows to board up.

2. in that regard Sam's Club would be better
more stuff in bulk, and even fewer windows, basically the front entrance which could be blocked by a truck.

Walmart and enough people to patrol the perimeter yet not too many so that you use up the supplies before the zombies rot.

6. Either a rickety cabin in a dark and creepy forest, or a deserted old
factory with catwalks and eerie indirect lighting. If I'm gonna go through a zombie war I want the full flavor.

On the way, I would stop off at S-Mart for essential supplies, like a boom-stick...

63. They can climb the anchor lines
Remember, in water they are nearly buoyant, so they only need a few pounds of upward thrust to climb.

Probably need something like a giant anti-squirrel disk on your boat line so they can't climb up past it...

I'd take a big, liveaboard catamaran towing a 21' cuddy along with a few firearms and thousands of rounds of ammo.

If you're going to be isolated, it might as well be in luxury.

the most important thing you can do is to move away from population centers.

in the event of an outbreak, major cities will become blood soaked death-holes.

Good defensive positions there, it's relatively isolated, and there's enough room to create some decent storage facilities for food and such. I wouldn't declare myself king, of course- just President For Life. :P

  • get a weapon and go on a zombie hunt
  • get yourself bitten, have fun as a blood thirsty zombie
  • take over a nuclear silo, conduct zombie experiments

I finally voted:
take over a nuclear silo, conduct zombie experiments

It sounded like the most fun to me although the other two sound like fun too.

There are no brains there, so the zombies would avoid it completely. They'd never think I was hiding in the bunker in the basement. You know, the one that Cheney got dragged to on 9/11, while our fearless leader sat in a public school? That one.

If they're runners the ONLY option is the island, especially if they're Dawn of the Dead type zombies that will never decay.

If they aren't runners we have a lot more options.

a fortress or an island is it, but if zombies are truly the dead come alive, i can't imagine their muscles would be strong enough to start running.

64. yeah, it pretty much destroys the beauty of 28 days later
besides being a pretty effective zombie horror movie, it had some brilliant scenes of beauty and cinematography. The whole scene where they find Jim's parent's house and they have the choral music playing ever so softly, then again when their in the cab escaping London and the Ave Maria is playing. 28 Weeks Later would be a fine action zombie movie if it was a stand alone thing, but it sucks after following the greatness of 28 Days Later.

61. Stay here
I'm not on the first floor, so I'd just team up with my building-mates and rip down the staircases after evacuation the bottom floor. Grease up the posts holding the balconies up, load up the guns, and fill up everything that can hold water, and wait until winter freezes the zombies into icicles.

I've got about 400 rounds of .22 ammo on hand, and that'll penetrate a zombie skull and ricochet around inside like a ping-pong ball at up to 25 yards.

Don't have a lot of food stocked up, though :-(
