Brief Grandma Update; house cleaning continues: the Find of the Century. |
|
Grandma continues to flourish at Quaker Gardens. I'm waiting on a photograph: I hear that she's given up her wigs and that her hair is beautiful, shining and gray, parted in the middle and falling straight down her shoulders. I've known the woman all my life and I've never seen her without wavy red "hair" of one variety or another. I can't picture what she looks like!
And as for The Find -- it may be the find of two centuries: in a dresser drawer, a used condom. :wtf:

1. Was it an antique or postmodern? |
|
Why the Hell would anyone not throw away a condom?

I asked my sister if it was sheepskin. She said she wasn't going to examine it. My other sister suggested DNA testing.
Her husband was odd; he'd take walks daily and bring back things he found. I think that accounts for a lot of the trash my sisters are finding. My theory is that he found this in some parking lot and brought it home to be cruel. God knows why she didn't chuck it -- or maybe he squirreled it away in the drawer for her to find one day. (He's been dead a year now, but he had gone to a home, sadly warehoused by his children, seven years prior.)
As for why she didn't throw it away, presuming she was aware of its existence? Fenris, meet my Grandma. That's all I can say.

3. My grandmother's like that too |
|
Doubt she was aware of its existence. I am just perplexed as to how it got there in the first place and what the rationale was for storing it. Though I like your explanations. Her husband sounds like a weird fellow!

working on the grey hair to my shoulders as we speak! (It's already to my shoulders, and in the last year it's really getting grey; guess I'll actually start looking like a granny now!)
